The Ruyte model
Ruyte’s program connects a customer with a participating brand for a trade-in assessment. The customer identifies the original brand/product, describes condition and uploads photographs. The brand or Ruyte’s authorized inspection team decides whether the item fits that brand’s active program. This is separate from a standard return and is not an open marketplace where every submitted item is automatically posted.
02
Eligibility and submission
- —The brand must currently participate in recommerce.
- —The item must match an eligible product or be verifiably from that brand.
- —It must meet the displayed minimum condition and hygiene/safety rules.
- —Photos and descriptions must be complete and honest.
- —Items may be declined because of condition, authenticity uncertainty, alteration, missing pieces, low demand, oversupply, recall, safety, seasonality or inability to resell responsibly.
03
Local handoff only at launch
Ruyte resale is currently limited to domestic handoffs in Pakistan and Canada. An item originally delivered to a Pakistan address must be received at an approved Pakistan location. An item originally delivered to a Canada address must be received at an approved Canada location. Cross-border resale shipping, including Pakistan-to-Canada and Canada-to-Pakistan handoffs, is not offered until Ruyte has suitable local consolidation partners.
04
Assessment and offer
An initial estimate based on your submission is not final. Physical inspection may consider authenticity indicators, wear, stains, odour, damage, alterations, completeness, cleaning feasibility and current demand. Before you commit, the flow must state the credit basis, where credit can be used, when title transfers, and what happens if inspection changes the estimate.
05
What happens after acceptance
Depending on the offer shown, the item may be cleaned, repaired, authenticated, photographed, stored, recycled, donated or responsibly handled through an approved channel. If selected for relisting, Ruyte creates a new condition-specific listing and identifies it as pre-loved/recommerce. The new buyer receives the protections applicable to that listing, including claims for damage, counterfeit goods or material misdescription.
06
Why some items are not relisted
Ruyte curates resale inventory to protect buyers, brands and the environment. We relist only items that can be identified, presented accurately, handled safely and offered with a reasonable prospect of demand. Accepted items that are not suitable for the storefront are managed according to the option disclosed at acceptance; Ruyte will not silently dispose of customer property before ownership has validly transferred.
07
Rejection, reassessment and disputes
If the physical item does not match the submission, we provide a reason and the available choices, which may include a revised offer or return at the disclosed cost. Items suspected to be unsafe, counterfeit or unlawful may be held as required for investigation. Customers may request a second review within 7 days of the decision.
