Customs, duties & international orders

Unless checkout expressly says duties and taxes are included, international orders are delivered DAP (sometimes described by carriers as DDU): the recipient is normally the importer of record and pays duties, VAT/sales tax, brokerage, storage or similar destination charges. DDP means the seller or Ruyte arranged to prepay the stated import charges, although an authority may still reassess a declaration. These amounts are set by authorities and carriers, not Ruyte.

Authorities may consider origin, tariff classification, declared value, shipping cost and destination. Customs may inspect or delay a parcel. A carrier or authority may contact you for identification, payment or documents, and doorstep delivery cannot be guaranteed where collection or in-person clearance is required.

Ruyte and sellers must describe goods and values accurately and will not mark purchases as gifts or undervalue them. Products or destinations may be restricted by law or carrier rules; an order may be cancelled before acceptance where lawful delivery is unavailable.

• —Customer refusal or missed deadline: recoverable outbound, return, brokerage and storage costs may be deducted from a refund where lawful and disclosed.
• —Seller or Ruyte documentation/declaration error: Ruyte coordinates correction and bears reasonable resulting costs.
• —A product negligently sold despite a known prohibition: the customer receives the remedy required by law.
• —Carrier error: Ruyte opens a carrier investigation and does not treat the tracking scan alone as conclusive.
• —Government action outside everyone’s control: Ruyte reviews recoverable goods and costs case by case rather than applying an automatic no-refund rule.

Duties paid directly to a government or broker are not automatically refundable by Ruyte. You may need to claim them from the authority. We will provide available order or return records reasonably needed for that claim. Mandatory rights prevail.

For each parcel, Ruyte shares the minimum name, delivery address, phone, order reference, parcel details and customs information required by the selected courier, logistics provider, customs broker or authority. Different parcels in one order may use different providers and arrive separately.
